February 27, 2019 - 11:26 am

LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will make the following ramp closures on Thursday night in Las Vegas:

*U.S. Highway 95 northbound to Interstate 15 southbound (10 p.m., February 28, until 4 a.m., March 1)

*Charleston Boulevard to Interstate 15 southbound (10 p.m., February 28, until 5 a.m., March 1)

*Martin Luther King Boulevard southbound to Charleston Boulevard westbound (7 p.m., February 28, until 6 a.m., March 1)

The temporary closures are needed for electrical work and sign installation as part of Project Neon’s nearly $1 billion 4-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue, which broke ground in 2016.  Project Neon is 93 percent finished and scheduled for substantial completion in this summer.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. Check the Project Neon website (NDOTProjectNeon.com) or Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages (@NDOTProjectNeon) for up to date information. There is also a free smartphone app available, plus a hotline available in both English and Spanish at 702-293-NEON (6366). NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures, and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors.
