LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas loves William Karlsson and it looks like that love runs both ways.

First reported by the website, The Athletic, the Vegas Golden Knights center on Monday signed a multi-year, big money extension to stay with the club.

The deal is for 8 years and $47.2 million.

Karlsson emerged as one of the breakout starts for the Knights during their historic run to the Stanley Cup Finals in their inaugural season in 2018-2018.

He was the club's leading scorer that season with 43 goals. The scoring numbers tailed off a bit last season, with 24 goals and 32 assists.

Karlsson was a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets when he was selected by the Golden Knights in the NHL expansion draft.
