LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - If anything can be called a “steal” for $12 million, it’s an iconic landmark that’s now for sale in Downtown Las Vegas.

The owner of A Little White Chapel, Charlotte Richards, recently listed the property for sale, saying that after running the place for 68 years, it was time for her to slow down and let someone else do the “I dos.”

Richards purchased A Little White Chapel on Las Vegas Boulevard just south of Charleston back in 1951 for a price of $50,000. When the one-acre, now 15,802 square-foot property opened, the chapel was just a single room, but a number of renovations were done through the years that have led to the current configuration of five chapels, in addition to a drive-thru lane, in-house florist, and gown and tux rental service.

The $12 million price tag is considered a bargain, not just because of the chapel’s history, but because land nearby along Las Vegas Boulevard has been listed in the $30 million price range.

A Little White Chapel has a rich history of celebrity marriages, including those of Frank Sinatra, Britney Spears, Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Mary Tyler Moore, James Caan and Michael Jordan.

The venue has also made appearances in a number of TV shows and movies such as The Bachelor, Friends, The History Channel, The Today Show and The Hangover.

The property is currently represented locally by Steve Khalilzadegan with Savi Realty, who says he’s already had interested parties reach out for more information.
