June 14, 2018 - 12:39 pm

LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - On Thursday, June 14, 2018, Accessible Space, Inc. (ASI) will host a Grand Opening and Dedication Ceremony from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. for the Patriot Place Apartments, a new accessible, affordable apartment community with preference given to qualifying U.S. Veterans. The event will be held at Patriot Place Apartments, located at 4245 South Pecos Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89121. The celebration will begin with a flag raising and color guard ceremony, followed by a ribbon cutting and photo opportunities outside the building. The event will continue indoors with speeches from local officials, funders and partners, followed by a luncheon and tours of the apartment community.

ASI began working with local nonprofit organizations in Nevada in 1990 to develop Nevada's first supportive living settings for very low-income individuals with physical disabilities. Of ASI’s 160 affordable housing developments funded in 31 states nationwide, 28 of those affordable housing developments are located in Nevada representing 1,198 units. The 50 unit Patriot Place Apartments is ASI’s first low-income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) financed development designed for, and with a preference given to qualifying U.S. Veterans. Patriot Place provides 13 Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) project-based vouchers and 36 HUD Section 8 project-based vouchers, thanks to the support of the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority (SNRHA) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

“Clark County is a proud partner in this project,” said Clark County Commission Vice Chair Chris Giunchigliani, whose District E includes the new development. "Patriot Place Apartments will provide supportive and affordable housing to very low income veterans who are disabled and homeless. We look forward to ongoing collaboration with Accessible Space Incorporated and other partners to build more affordable housing in our community to serve the needs of our veterans, low-income seniors and families, and disabled residents.”

"Affordable housing is one of the signature community impact areas that U.S. Bank focuses on not just in Las Vegas but across the nation. We applaud ASI for its commitment to providing safe, high-quality, affordable Veteran housing in Southern Nevada so that we can be of service those who have served our nation so nobly," Jon Clevenger, assistant vice president of U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation, a subsidiary of U.S. Bank.

Primary funding and support for Patriot Place Apartments was provided by: Nevada Housing Division, Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program; U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development HOME Investment Partnerships Program, Clark County Community Resources Management; Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco’s Affordable Housing Program/City National Bank; Wells Fargo Housing Foundation’s Priority Markets Grant; US Bank National Association; US Bancorp Community Development Corporation; US Veterans Administration; and the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority.

ASI is sincerely grateful for the strong support provided by these agencies and organization whose generous contributions have made Patriot Place a reality for Nevada U.S. Veterans and residents with disabilities in need of accessible, affordable and supportive “Housing with Care ©.”
