LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - According to local transportation officials, we're in the home stretch of construction work called Project Neon. If you work nights, and you often use U.S. 95 and I-15, you might want to keep reading.

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close north and south bound U.S. Highway 95 at Interstate 15 Tuesday night from 10 p.m., June 26, until 5 a.m., June 27, in downtown Las Vegas. Other Tuesday night ramp closures include the following:

*Southbound Interstate 15 to northbound U.S. Highway 95 ramp will be closed from 10 p.m., June 26, until 5 a.m., June 27.

*North and southbound Interstate 15 to Martin Luther King Boulevard will be closed from 8 p.m., June 26, until 6 a.m., June 27.

*Northbound U.S. Highway 95 to Martin Luther King Boulevard will be closed from 8 p.m., June 26, until 6 a.m., June 27.

The temporary closures are needed to put up an Active Management Sign (ATM) gantry as well as bridge construction as part of "The Main Event," the third and final phase of work for Project Neon's nearly $1 billion 4-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue. Project Neon is nearly 70 percent finished with more than 1 million manhours of work recorded so far. Project Neon remains on budget and on scheduled for an anticipated completion in the summer of 2019.

Suggested alternate travel routes during the closure for northbound U.S. Highway 95 include Boulder Highway, Charleston Boulevard and Eastern Avenue; southbound traffic, meanwhile, can use Valley View Boulevard, Rancho Drive and Decatur Boulevard as alternates. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use the Waze navigation app for trouble-free travel.
