LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - Las Vegas and Clark County firefighters responded to a tree fire that spread to a house early Sunday morning. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in less than 15 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The initial call at 10:32 a.m. Sunday, Apr. 21, was for a tree on fire behind a residence at 4108 El Camino Ave. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the fire from a palm tree had spread to the attic of the one-story house at that address. Heavy fire was encountered in the attic when firefighters checked, additional fire units were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters were also concerned the fire would spread to the house at 4112 El Camino Ave.

Fire investigators believe the fire started outside the house at 4112 and spread to the palm tree. Brisk westerly breezes spread burning embers throughout the neighborhood. Then the fire spread to the attic of the house next door at 4108.

Damage to the attic of the house at 4108 was heavy, the house at 4112 had very minor damage to the exterior. What started the outside fire is under investigation.

There were no injuries in connection with the incident.
