LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Salvation Army is kicking off their annual holiday Red Kettle Campaign with a pair of events in the Valley on Saturday.

Beginning at 2pm on Saturday, The Henderson United Corps of The Salvation Army Southern Nevada will host a display of traditional holiday music and Korean dance inside The Galleria Mall, on the first floor in front of JC Penney.

Their event will feature Korean Dancers performing in full costume,

The Salvation Army Brass Band, the Green Valley Kiwanis Club leading Christmas Carols and more.  Those in attendance will have the opportunity to be among the first to put donations in that ubiquitous Red Kettle and to pick a Christmas Angel off the Angel Tree to help make a bright Christmas for a deserving child.

Then later one, the kettle campaig moves out to the Thomas and Mack Center, where the Runnin' Rebels will be taking on the SMU Mustangs starting at 7:30pm.

Nearly 17% of cash donations received by The Salvation Army is received through the Red Kettle Campaign each year.  All of the money donated in Southern Nevada stays in southern Nevada to provide programs and services to this community. Those programs include food for hungry families, rental assistance, Veterans programs, shelter for homeless, vocational training programs and help for victims of human trafficking.
