LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Nevada Department of Transportation will close the 215 Northern Beltway in both directions between Oso Blanca Road and Sky Pointe Drive from 8 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday next week.

The temporary closure is needed to safely place concrete for the top deck of the northwest bridge structure over the 215 Beltway as part of the $73 million next phase of the Centennial Bowl, which broke ground in January 2019.

The project calls for building new freeway flyover ramps, connecting the eastbound 215 Beltway to U.S. Highway 95 southbound and U.S. Highway 95 northbound to the 215 Beltway westbound. The project is scheduled to finish this fall.

Meanwhile a major east-side intersection will start seeing restrictions on Monday.

The city of Las Vegas will begin work on street, sidewalk, traffic signal, street lighting, storm drain and landscaping improvements at the intersection of  Charleston and Lamb. The $6.5 million project will increase traffic capacity at the intersection and take approximately 6 months to complete.

The project primarily will restrict traffic along Charleston Boulevard and Lamb Boulevard near the intersection from next Monday  into August.

Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday when there are no lane restrictions on Charleston, but when lane restrictions are required on Charleston, work hours will be 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday night-Friday morning.
