Five Nevada Counties Surpass 2010 Census Return Rate

One Southern Nevada Community Tops All Others Statewide

LAS VEGAS NV (KXNT) - The latest 2020 Census response rates released show that five Nevada counties have surpassed their 2010 Census response rate.

About 800,000 of Nevadans have now responded to the 2020 Census, making Douglas, Churchill, Clark, Lyon, and Storey counties five of 16 counties that have surpassed their rate from the 2010 Census. 

The Census Bureau’s online response rate map shows response rates by state, city, county and census tract. Households in Nevada who have yet to respond can complete the 2020 Census online, by phone, or by mail. Households that do not respond to the census will receive a visit from a census taker who will help them respond.

Nevada’s top five counties with the highest response rates:

Churchill          68.3%

Carson City      65.5%

Lyon                 65.2%

Washoe            64.4%

Douglas            63.4%

Nevada’s top five cities with the highest response rates:

Henderson       70.6%

Fallon              69.3%

Boulder City   69.2 %

Fernley            67.7%

Mesquite          67.0%


Residents of the Midwest are returning their census forms at the highest rate, with the Top 5 states being Minnesota, Wiconsin, Michigan, Iowa and Nebraska.
