LAS VEGAS -  The Clark County School District (CCSD) has added an additional route to the Wi-Fi bus schedule announced earlier this month. Along with the 14th Wi-Fi bus route, CCSD has relocated some of the stops on existing routes to better serve students throughout Clark County. The changes will take effect on Thursday.

The District began testing a system for Wi-Fi access at various locations throughout the Las Vegas valley back on May 1st via school buses that will be parked at different locations along designated routes.

Each bus route will include four stops daily to provide more than an hour of Wi-Fi access to CCSD students at each location.

Students will be able to access the Wi-Fi signal up to 400 feet from the bus. CCSD will encourage social distancing practices as adherence to Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines will be critical to the success of the program. Each bus will also be equipped with signs encouraging students and parents to follow the CDC guidelines for social distancing and encouraging people to wear masks in public. Those who have Wi-Fi access in their homes are being asked to stay in their homes and utilize their own connectivity to further assist with social distancing.

For internet access, students will need to get the network name and password from the signs posted on or near the bus.

CCSD has already distributed more than 60,000 Chromebooks to students during the school closures in an effort to offer equitable access to distance learning opportunities to every child. Students in need of a computer to access student learning extensions and other educational opportunities should contact their school to request a device.

Students in need of technical assistance at the mobile Wi-Fi locations can contact the District Technology helpline at (702) 249-1825.
