CCSD accepting magnet school applications

Department is hosting parent workshops, virtual choice fair

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Families in southern Nevada are invited to apply to any of the 40 Magnets and five Select Schools in the Clark County School District (CCSD) through January 5, 2021.

A magnet program is a program in a public school that usually focuses on a special area of study, such as science, the performing arts, or career education. A magnet school is an entire school with a special focus. These programs and schools are designed to attract students from across a district

The CCSD Magnet Schools and Career & Technical Academies Department will be hosting virtual Magnet 101 Parent Workshops and Fall and Winter Choice fairs over the coming months for families interested in learning about the various magnet programs throughout the District. 

CCSD will continue to offer kindergarten as an option at 11 CCSD elementary Magnet Schools.

A lottery will be conducted for any program when there are more qualifying students than available seats.

 - Thur. Oct. 29, 2020 10 - 11 a.m. & 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

 - Thur. Nov. 12, 2020 10 - 11 a.m. & 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. (Spanish Speaker)

 - Tues. Dec. 1, 2020 10 - 11 a.m. & 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Magnet Choice Fairs Dates and Times:

 - Sat. Oct. 24, 2020 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

 - Sat. Dec. 5, 2020 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
