Police: Retired Detective Shot, Killed Former Son-in-Law

Shooting Happened During a Supervised Visit With Victim's Child

LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - A retired Las Vegas Metro police detective was questioned after she reportedly shot and killed her former son-in-law during a domestic disturbance early Monday, authorities said.

Police were called to the home n the northwest part of the Valley near the 8500 block of Honey Vine Avenue just after 8 a.m. Monday to find the victim who had been shot multiple times, a Las Vegas Metro Police statement reported.

Authorities said the victim was there for a supervised visit with his 3-year-old child and his ex-wife when an altercation happened between the man and the child's grandmother.

The woman, who retired from the LVMPD two years ago, shot the victim multiple times. 

The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Metro Police homicide investigators are looking into the shooting.
