Northbound 95 To Kyle Canyon Exit Closed Thursday In Northwest Las Vegas

Temporary Closure Needed For Open Grade Paving Work

May 28, 2019 - 1:32 pm

LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - Get ready for more cone zones and delays if you live in the northwest part of the valley.

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will close the northbound U.S. Highway 95 temporary exit to Kyle Canyon Road from 4 a.m. until 9 a.m., May 30, in northwest Las Vegas. (A signed detour route will be in place)

The temporary closure is needed for open grade paving work as part of a $78 million, six-mile-long widening and upgrade of U.S. Highway 95 between Ann and Kyle Canyon roads that broke ground in January 2018. The project calls for expanding the highway from four to six lanes from Durango Drive to Kyle Canyon Road, constructing Elkhorn Road carpool access ramps and building a new diverging diamond interchange at Kyle Canyon Road (shown below). The project is scheduled to finish June 20.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled changes, closures, and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit or call 511 before driving.
