Wrong-Way Driver Killed In I-15 Crash Identified

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - One person was killed early Thursday in a crash invloving a wrong way driver on I-15.

NHP investigators say it happened around 3:30am when a car driving south in the northbound lanes of I-15 hit another car head-on just past the Lake Mead exit.

The person driving the wrong way was killed. She was identified on Tursday as 27 year-old Ericka Avila. The occupants of the car that was struck suffered non life-threatening injuries.

A second accident in the area happened when another person had to swerve out of the way of the wrong way driver and struck the center median. That person also wasn't seriously hurt.

NHP re-opened 15 North between Lake Mead and Cheyenne just before 9am.
