(Las Vegas, NV)  - Elon Musk's company will begin to tunnel under the Las Vegas Convention Center today.

An underground people mover will be in the tunnel and it's expected to have three passenger stations to get people from one side to the other side in about a minute.

The deal also includes developing less than a mile of twin vehicular tunnels, a pedestrian tunnel, three underground stations, and elevators and escalators to access the stations.

Other features include lighting, power, video surveillance, ventilation, safety, cellphone and WiFi systems, intercom and public address systems and a control room.

The project is slated to be done in January of 2021 at an expected cost of roughly $52 million.
