Two women sentenced in separate fatal crashes

Both wrecks involved impairment, children being killed

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Two women received their sentences Thursday for causing wrecks that killed kids.

Ebone Whitaker was sentenced to between 10 and 25 years for striking and killing two girls who were crossing the street near the Boulevard Mall last August. Whitaker admitted to drinking and using drugs on the day of the crash. Whitaker has a long history of drug abuse

Meanwhile, the woman who wrecked her car and killed her one year old son while racing the boy’s father home last July near Lake Mead and Rampart received a sentence of 6 to 20 years. Lauren Prescia, 23, pleaded guilty in September to DUI resulting in death and child abuse, neglect or endangerment.

The boy’s father, Cameron Hubbard-Jones, is looking at 1 to 5 years when he’s sentenced next month. Hubbard-Jones has been in jail for a parole violation.
