LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - A deadly week on the Valley roads continued early Thursday with a fatal wreck in the southeast part of the Valley.

The latest crash involved 3 vehicles, including a box truck, at the intersection of Tropicana and Nellis. It happened around 4:30am. Inital investigation indicates that the crash was caused by a driver running a red light. The driver of that car died. Injuries of people in the other vehicles range from critical to moderate.

Expect the intersection of Tropicana and Nellis to be closed for most of the morning.

That wreck follows on the heels of a central Valley fatal on Sahara and Jones that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.

According to investigators a sedan was heading east on Sahara at a high rate of speed when an impaired driver hit a vehicle. Police say she then sped from that scene, lost control of her car, and hit another car head on. The driver of that car was killed.

33 year old Eileen Gonzalez is facing DUI and reckless driving charges in that crash. The victim was identified on Wednesday morning as 56 year old Christina Gates.

The crashes are Metro Police's 77th and 78th traffic-related fatalities so far in 2019.
