LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Two people were killed early Friday in a two-car crash in North Las Vegas.

Investigators say the wreck happened just after 3am on Pecos south of Lake Mead. Police say that a Dodge Charger driving at a high rate of speed clipped the back of a pickup truck going north on Pecos. The Charger then slammed into a pole and burst into flames. The occupants of the Charger were killed

The driver of the pickup wasn't hurt. They stayed on scene and cooperated with investigators. Police say speed was a definite factor in the crash.

As of 7:30am, Pecos was closed south of Lake Mead. Drivers in the area can use Lamb or Civic Center as alternates.
