Two people are dead after a shooting early Wednesday morning in downtown Las Vegas.

Metro officers responding to reports of gunfire near the intersection of East McWilliams and North Eastern avenues around 1230a discovered a silver SUV that collided into a wall of a residence. Officers found a man sitting in the driver’s seat deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. A female passenger suffering from gunshot wounds was transported to UMC Trauma where she was later pronounced deceased.

Detectives say the victims drove into the area and pulled up to an unidentified suspect who was on foot. The victims and suspect had a conversation and as the victims drove away, the suspect fired several rounds striking them. The victim’s vehicle continued to drive forward until it collided into a wall. The suspect ran off before police got there.
