DUI Suspect Anthony Penniston

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT)  – A man accused of causing a fatal crash in North Las Vegas while driving impaired was released from jail due to delays with his bloodwork.

Back on November 14th, police arrested Anthony Penniston after they say he blew through a stop sign on Aliante north of 215 and slammed into a car being driven by 71 year old Arthur Hobbs.

Hobbs died at the scene. Penniston was taken to jai

According to police reports, Penniston was let out of jail a week later after filing of formal charges was delayed.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson told the Las Vegas Review Journal that a heavy number of DUI cases helped to create a delay in the bloodwork results needed to keep Penniston in jail.

The next hearing in the case is set for January 13th.
