Citing the extension of the Nevada shutdown due to the coronavirus crisis, Station Casinos notified employees of upcoming layoffs at some of the company's properties.

The Friday letter from company Chairman and CEO Frank Fertitta III also outlined plans for casinos identified to be part of a restart in the initial reopening phase, including Red Rock, Palace Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe, Green Valley Ranch and Boulder Station.  It also includes properties in the company's "Wildfire Division".

The layoffs would come from properties not listed in the reopening, which include Palms, Fiesta Rancho, Fiesta Henderson and Texas Station.  Team members will be paid through May 16, with benefits running through September 30.

Team members unaffected by the layoffs will have paychecks and benefits continue through May 31.
