LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report into a fatal helicopter crash near Red Rock Canyon last month.

According to the report, back on October 23rd, the helicopter that crashed was undergoing maintenance for dirt in its fuel tank the day of the crash. It’s not clear if the repair was actually completed.

A flight from earlier in the day reported no problems with the cleanliness of the fuel tank.

Inspection of the wreckage showed no problems with the engine, but investigators said a signal system on the rotor connected to the cockpit was missing a part.

Two brothers died in the crash.

The NTSB is continuing its investigation. You see the full preliminary report here.
