LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Nevada is raking in big bucks from the marijuana industry.

After having only recently legalized marijuana for recreational use, taxes and fees collected from pot sales have already hit the 100-million-dollar mark.

Altogether, dispensaries, laboratories, and producers have paid more than 109-million in the current fiscal year.

Beginning next year, changes to state law will require that 100-percent of marijuana taxes go toward education.

The revenue growth being seen in the Silver State mirrors what's being seen in other states that have legalized recreational marijuana, with new projections showing sales topping the NFL's 15-billion-dollars in revenue by next year.
