Plans For Silver Knights' Events Center Unveiled

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Hockey fans got a first look at what a new arena might look like for the Henderson Silver Knights.
The Silver Knights are the Vegas Golden Knights' top minor league affiliate, and they start play in southern Nevada later this year. While the new events center is being constructed on the gounds of the old Henderson Pavilion at Green Valley and Paseo Verde Parkways, the team will play at the Orleans Arena.

Last year, Golden Knights Owner Bill Foley bught the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League and brought them up to Henderson.
Later this month, the Henderson City Council will take up the item of awarding a contract to build the new events center. It's exptected that the The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company will get that contract.
Some numbers:
Cost of the events center: $84 million. The cost will be split between the City of Henderson and the Golden Knights.
Seating Capacity: 6,109
Premium/Suite Seats: 971
Parking spots on site: 1,400
The Henderson City Council is expected to move forward with the events center plan at its meeting on June 16th.
