LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - North Las Vegas police say one person was killed in a two-vehicle wreck near Centennial Parkway and Losee Wednesday afternoon that they say was caused by excessive speed.

Police say it happened around 3:30 pm near the intersection of Statz Street and Azure.

Investigators say a Ford Mustang was traveling between 80 and 90 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone when the driver of the car slammed into a pickup truck.

A passenger in the Mustang was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The drivers of both vehicles were hurt, but it's believed that neither suffered life-threatening injuries.

Speed is suspected as being the cause of the crash, but impairment isn't thought to be involved.

Right now no charges have been filed as the investigation continues, nor have any names of the accident victims been released.
