LAS VEAS, NV (KXNT) - One person was found dead inside a boarded-up home that caught fire on the valley's east side early Monday.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded just after 5am to the scene on Howard Avenue, near Sahara and Eastern, to find the house fully engulfed.

Once the fire was put out and entry gained into the house, firefighters discovered the body.

Firefighters say that residents in the area told them that the house was vacant, but was frequently used by squatters. Back on March 26th, fire broke out at the same residence but no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire isn't known, nor is the identitiy of the person found at the scene. No firefighters were injured battling the blaze.
