LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Plenty of progress is being made on the northern stretch of the 215 Beltway, as crews work to turn to the area from North 5th to Range Road into a full freeway.

Progress comes at a price, though, and that price included new on and offramp closures that began on Sunday night.

The on- and off-ramps connecting Lamb and the 215 are now closed, and traffic on the 215 will be on the main highway road, which goes under Lamb. Meanwhile, the highway exits and entrances at Losee Road continue to be closed.

Drivers affected by these closures can use the 215 entrances and exits at North Pecos Road or North 5th Street. The closure of the Lamb on and offramps are expected to last for 3 months.

Drivers heading north on Lamb, will be detoured west onto Centennial Parkway and then to Pecos to go either eastbound or westbound on the 215.

The construction is part of the Northern Beltway improvement project, which will turn the 215 into a full freeway from North 5th Street to the Union Pacific Railroad tracks just west of Range Road. The project includes new interchanges and bridges at Losee, Pecos and Lamb, plus new medians, high-mast lighting, and drainage facilities.
