LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - It should now be a lot safer to cross one of the busiest parts of the Las Vegas Strip.

The city has opened up another in a series of pedestrian bridges. The 17th in the series link the Park MGM with the Showcase Mall.

The bridge, which took 14 months to construct, should help to alleviate a lot of congestions through that area, an area which has seen four auto-pedestrian accidents since Novemeber alone.

The building of pedestrian bridges is far from finished, with the next one spanning the Boulevard from Bellagio to Planet Hollywood. More are also planned for the north side of the Strip in conjunction with the opening of the new expansion to the Las Vegas Convention Center.
