New Lodge Going Up At Lee Canyon
First Major Addition in 50 Years Of Operation
LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - For the first time since it opened, Lee Canyon will be having some significant construction being done.
Plans were announced Tuesday for a new Hillside Lodge that will be an addition to the main lodge.
The Hillside Lodge will feature a heated terrace, patio dining space, bistro, expanded restroom facilities and a ski-in, ski-out bar, plus event space for meetings, weddings and other events.
A spokesman for Lee Canyon, northwest of Las Vegas at the top of State Route 156, says an additional space is badly needed to address not only the increasing crowds but also as a look to the future where the Las Vegas Valley is expected to continue to grow.
There’s bad news that comes with the good, though, as regular summer operations will be closed to accommodate the building of the new lodge. However, the parking lot will continue to be open to allow hikers access to area trails.
The building of the Hillside Lodge marks the first major construction up at Lee Canyon since the opening of the original lodge back in the 1960s
