LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Officials with the Department of Motor Vehicles are saying that in an effort to cut down on large gatherings, they will only be serving customers that have made online appointments through their website.

In an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus, the Centers For Disease Control recommended that social gatherings of more than 50 people be restricted for the next 8 weeks.

Anyone who's ever been to the DMV knows how crwded the places can get, so they're taking the "appointments only" measure to reduce the usual mass of humanity.

The DMV has a list of transactions that can be done online instead of in person. Those include,

          - Address Change

          - Vehicle Registration Renewal

          - Original Registration (vehicles purchased from a Nevada dealer)

          - Movement Permit (vehicles with an existing Nevada registration)

          - Handicapped Placard

          - Duplicate Registration or License Plate Decal | Duplicate Title

          - Duplicate Driver License, Permit or ID

          - Driver History Printout

          - Insurance Verification Response and Registration Reinstatement

Kiosks are also available at larger DMV offices and partner locations for registration renewals, duplicates, insurance reinstatments and driver history printouts.
