LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Nevada reported 1,020 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, putting the total case number since the start of the pandemic to 273,873.

There were 46 new virus-related deaths reported, making that number currently 4,134.

In Clark County, the Southern Nevada Health District added 855 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the pandemic's onset to 210,581. There have been 3,165 virus-related deaths (up 40).

Confirmed or suspected COVID-19 ICU hospitalizations in Clark County number 298 (up 5 from the previous day), with the number of people on ventilators at 208 (down 9).

Clark County continues to be included on a list of Nevada counties considered at an "elevated risk" for contracting Covid-19. Currently Esmeralda, Mineral, Storey and White Pine are the only Nevada counties not on the "elevated risk" list.

Counties are considered an "elevated risk" if they meet two of three criteria — fewer than 100 average daily tests per 100,000 people in the county (403 for Clark County), more than 200 total cases per 100,000 people diagnosed and reported in the past 30 days (1818 for Clark County), or a test positivity rate over two weeks of more than 8 percent when there are also more than 50 cases per 100,000 people (20% for Clark County).

Nevada's test positivity rate over the past 14 days is 18.6% (down .3%) with a 14-day rolling case average of  1,144 (down 68).
