Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Major casino companies are continuing to downsize as COVID-19 travel fallout keeps tourists and their money off The Strip.

On Monday, the M Resort said that it anticipates laying off 236 employees beginning Dec. 21st.

The Tropicana said it plans to lay off an estimated 132 over a two-week stretch starting December 23rd. The latest round of propsed layoffs is on top of the 700+ workers cut back in August.

MGM Resorts said 180 employees at Park Theater and 164 employees at the MGM Grand Garden arena face layoffs, but a date for when that would happen wasn't specified. MGM laid-off 18-thousand employees in August.

The notices were all filed under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act in order to give employees time to find another job in case the layoffs go through
