Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs suffered a pretty good sized gash on his forehead from the crash he was involved in early Monday on the southbound Airport Connector.

No one else was hurt in the single-vehicle wreck that police say was caused by Jacobs driving impaired.

Officials said Wednesday that the car JHacobs was driving skidded for over 300 feet before colliding with the wall and that alcohol was detected on Jacobs’ breath as he was talking with officers. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being transported to Clark County Detention Center where he was booked for DUI.

He’s not due to court again until March and his attorneys say they’ll fight any impairment charges.

The Raiders released a statement Monday regarding Jacobs: “The Raiders are aware of the situation involving Josh Jacobs. The organization takes these matters seriously and we have no further comment at this time.”

Attorneys for Jacobs contest the arrest, saying they plan to plead not guilty.

The 22-year-old Jacobs had just completed his second season with the Raiders, leading the team in rushing with 1065 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.  The Raiders defeated the Denver Broncos 32-31 in Sunday's season finale.
