LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - A member of the Clark County School District Board of Trustees sent out a letter to CCSD Superintendent Jesus Jara, calling for a special meeting next week to evaluate the superintendent's performance. The meeting is to be held, virtually, on Wednesday

The letter below was sent by three CCSD school board members and signed by CCSD Trustee Danielle Ford.

Jara has come under fire lately for disagreements with Governor Steve Sisolak and the Nevada Superintendent of Public Instruction over the origin of an Assembly bill that would have taken leftover money from individual schools and applied it to the school district's budget deficit, as well as his handling of how schools in the district deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

Recently, The National Education Association of Southern Nevada called for Jara’s resignation. The union representing Clark County teachers has come out in support of the superintendent, calling the meeting politically motivated.
