LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - It's news that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, but still registers a shock.

New passenger numbers released by McCarran International Airport Thursday showed passenger traffic declining a whopping 53 percent from February's numbers due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Numbers show that just over 2 million people used the airport in March, compared with 4.4 million in February.

Statistics for April are expected to be even workse, as hotel/casinos along the Las Vegas Strip will have been closed for the entire month in an attempt to slow the spread of COVIC-19 (coronavirus).
