Metro vowed to crack down this year after more than 25,000 complaints came in last year to the new website www.ispyfireworks.com. That website was also up and running for complaints this year as well. Metro said they used statistics from last year's complaints to determine where trouble spots might be for this year's celebrations.
North Las Vegas PD were extra vigilant, as well.
We want to thank our community members for using the Ispy website to report illegal firework use last night. Here are a few pics of what we confiscated. Thx for making it a safer 4th for all of us. #communityproud @CNLV pic.twitter.com/BEaWKn2VGO

Meanwhile, NHP troopers seized roughtly $5,000 worth of illegal fireworks while staking out State Route 160, the road between Las Vegas and Pahrump. Clark County allows only "Safe-N-Sane" fireworks to be used, so many people drive to Nye County and transport the illegal ones back home.
No serious injuries were reported this year, but fire departments across the county reported to dozens of outside fire calls throughout the night.
