Lockdown Lifted at Spring Valley High School

Police Investigated Reports of a Student With a Firearm

LAS VEGAS (KXNT) - A lockdown has been lifted at Spring Valley High School following a report of a student on campus with a firearm.

The school was placed on a hard lockdown around 8:20 a.m. on Monday, out of an "abudance of caution," according to police.

Metro Police and Clark County School Police investigated the report, but found no evidence of any gun or weapon on campus.

After conducting a thorugh search of each classroom, police concluded there was no gunman and directed the school to lift the lockdown.

It is not yet clear what prompted the call to police concerning a potential gunman.
