LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - A new study by the financial website WalletHub confirms that Las Vegas is branching out beyond the slots, the gaming, and the glitz.

WalletHub has ranked Las Vegas the 2nd best city for recreation in the nation, behind only San Diego.

A number of factors were taken into account, including the number of parks, pools, music venues, bike rental facilities, walkability and weather.

Las Vegas scored at the top of the rankings for music venues, and finished in the Top 10 for park playgrounds and bike rental facilities per capita.

Hurting the Valley’s ranking a bit were middle of the road grades when it came to swimming pools per capita and the percentage of population with walkable park access.

After San Diego and Las Vegas, rounding out the Top 5 were Orlando, Honolulu and Tampa.

At the bottom of the list of the 100 cities surveyed were Chula Vista, CA, Fort Wayne, Oakland, Irving TX, and – t the bottom- Jersey City, New Jersey.

Three other Nevada cities made the list. Henderson was ranked 25th, while Reno came in 30th and North Las Vegas 56th.
