LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Hard Rock Hotel will close its doors next February for eight-months of renovations.

The company had initially planned to keep the hotel open for four-months as part of a longer construction schedule, but decided against it, calling the timeframe inefficient. The Hotel will be open into February, including Super Bowl Sunday. It's expected to  re-open in October of 2020. Total costs of the renovations are estimated at $200 million

Employees who decide to stay with the property will be paid a retention bonus covering up to ten weeks.

The Hard Rock was sold last year to Virgin Hotels.
