LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - A FedEx driver was killed Thursday night after he attempted to help put out a car fire in the far south Valley.

Nevada Highway Patrol says the truck came upon a Corvette that was on fire in the area of Las Vegas Boulevard and Via Inspirada. When the truck driver attempted to cross the road with a fire extinguisher he was struck and killed by a cement truck.

The driver of that cement truck stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities. Impairment isn't suspected. Roads were closed in the area for roughly four hours for investigation.

The name of the driver that was killed has not been released.
