Golden Knights Trade F Haula To Carolina

Forward Played Just 15 Games Last Season Due To Knee Injury

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Vegas Golden Knights have traded popular forward Erik Haula to the Carolina Hurricanes for forward Nicolas Roy.

The Golden Knights are expected to have have a busy offseason after signing C William Karlsson to an 8 year deal that put the club over the salary cap.

Haula played in only 15 games last season after suffering a knee injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a key cog in the Knights' storybook inaugural season, scoring 29 goals. Haula was an original Golden Knight, picked from the Minnesota Wild in the team's expansion draft.

The 22 year-old Roy played in 7 games for the Hurricanes last season, 

In spite of the move, the Golden Knights still remain just over $4 million above the $81.5 for next season
