Former LVCVA Members Face Felony Charges In Gift Card Probe

Investigation Claims Members Took Cards For Personal Use

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Four people, including three former members of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, face felony charges related to an investigation that looked into the misuse of close to $100,000 in Southwest Airlines gift cards.

Among those facing charges- Rossi Ralenkotter, the former head of the LVCVA. Ralenkotter retired last year, but continues to work as a paid consultant for the agency.

The Las Vegas Review Journal has been investigating the misuse of $90,000 worth of Southwest Airlines gift cards purchased by the LVCVA. The investigation shows that several LVCVA members used the gift cards for personal use, at taxpayers expense.

The 72 year-old Ralenkotter faces charges of theft and misconduct of a public officer.

Cathy Tull, the LVCVA'a former chief marketing officer, faces the same charges.

Brig Lawson, the agency's former business partnerships director, was charged with theft, forgery, and misuse of public money.

A 4th person charged in the case is a marketing executive for Southwest Airlines.

Ralenkotter made an initial court appearance Tuesday morning, where a preliminary hearing was set for September 26th,
