Fire At NV Energy Substation Knocks Out Power To Thousands
Surrounding Neighborhoods Evacuated As A Precaution

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Thousands were left without power overnight after fire broke out at an NV Energy substation near Decatur and Silverado Ranch.
Many customers in the Southwest area of Las Vegas are without power due to a fire in one of our substations. While our crews are on scene working to restore power safely and as quickly as possible, some may experience an extended outage. We apologize for the inconvenience.

It’s not yet known what caused the fire to start around 11:30 Thursday night. At the peak, more than 7,000 NV Energy customers were without power.
Just before 6am, the company sent out a tweet saying all power in the area had been restored.
