LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - A portion of Las Vegas Blvd was shut down early Wednesday because of a fiery wreck that happened in front of the South Premium Outlet Mall.

The crash involved three cars and happened just before 2am on Las Vegas Boulevard just south of Warm Springs.

Police say a BMW was heading southbound when they hit a guardrail and went into the northbound lanes.

The BMW hit a second car head-on, sending that car into a third vehicle. The driver of the BMW, only identified by Metro as a 42 year-old female, was killed. A 70 year-old man in the car that was hit head-on was taken to U.M.C. Trauma. The driver of the third car involved suffered minor injuries.

Las Vegas Boulevard was closed between Warm Springs and Robindale for crash cleanup and investigation. The stretch re-opened to traffic around 8:30am
