LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Road rage might be the cause of a fatal accident on I-15 early Wednesday that left a woman dead.

Just after midnight Wednesday, two cars were involved in a crash on the southbound side of I-15 past Flamingo.

Just after 6:30am, Metro Police stated that their Homicide Division would be responding to the scene.

At a briefing with the media just after 7am, Metro Homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said that a female driver of a sedan was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head after the car she was driving was involved in the crash with a second car.

Investigators say they will try and access surveillence video from hotels and the RTC to see if they can identify some sort of altercation between the woman who died and another vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

Metro is looking for anyone who may have been driving in the area between 12:10am and 12:20am to contact their homicide division, or use Crimestoppers (702-385-5555, www.crimestoppersofnv.com) if you wish to remain anonymous.
