Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The man Las Vegas police say was the driver of a minivan involved in pushing a woman off her bike to her death is scheduled to be in court on Wednesday.

Police say that 22-year-old Rodrigo Cruz was the driver of the vehicle used to push the woman off of her bike near Sahara and Hollywood. Investigators say that the passenger in Cruz' van, identified as Giovanni Barajas, leaned over and deliberately pushed 56 year-old Michelle Weismann off of her bike. Weismann died at the scene.

The momentum of the push knocked Barajas out of the minivan, where police say he skidded roughly 250 feet before slamming his head into a pole. He died at the scene as well.

Cruz faces charges of murder and violation of parole. Police say Cruz told them he fled the scene because of that parole violation.

Cruz is being held without bail. He's had two prior felony convictions.
