Dad Who Left Daughter Behind After Booze Run Makes Court Appearance

Child Now In Custody Of CPS. Father Freed But With Monitors

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - A 4-year old girl is in the custody of Child Protective Services after being left behind when her dad took her on a run for booze early Wednesday.

Metro police say the man had gone to a convenience store near Charleston and Rancho to buy alcohol, but his card was declined. The man, reported by the store clerk to be intoxicated, returned to the store a couple of hours later to see if anyone had seen his daughter.

Police were called to scene and searched the area, discovering the girl sleeping between two power boxes.The girl was reported in good condition.

Edwardo Zepeda was arrested at the scene. He was released after an initial court appearance on Thursday. Under terms of hs release, Zepeda must refrain from drinking, stay away from bars and liquor stores, and wear two ankle bracelets that would monitor his location.
