LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Major changes are coming to the D Las Vegas, downtown.

The Las Vegas Review Journal says that the hotel will be expanding its sportsbook by taking over the 2nd floor showroom.

The closure of the showroom, though, means the end of several long-running shows.

Cast and crew of "Marriage Can Be Murder", "Defending The Caveman", Adam London's "Laughternoon", "Friends; A Musical Parody", and the Jokesters comedy show were notified over the weekend that all shows will be closing on Janury 5th.

D owner Derek Stevens says he'll work to find new homes for the displaced shows. An estimated 50 people will be out of a job.

The D hopes for the new sportsbook to be ready to go by the time of the NCAA Basketball tournament next March.
