LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Clark County Commission has given the go-ahead for an expansion of an underground "people mover" currently being built under the Las Vegas Convention Center by a company founded by Tesla boss Elon Musk.

The original route for the people mover has it running from the Las Vegas Convention Center to the new Convention Center expansion currently under construction on the site of the old Riviera Hotel. Construction was to be finished in time for the Consumer Electronics Show in January, but organziers for that convention recently announced that the show would be moving online for 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The goal of those behind the Boring Company's underground transportation system was for it to expand to places beyond just the Convention Center and this week the County Commission approved the building of tunnels to two more locations: The Encore and (the currently under construction) Resorts World.
Construction of the additional tunnels is expected to begin later this year.
