County Activates Additional 'Cooling Stations' Due To Excessive Heat

4 Locations Will Be Made Available Through Saturday

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - An Excessive Heat Warning goes into effect at 10am Thursday and goes through Saturday. High temps are expected to top out near 115 in several areas around town, so Clark County has activated a number of cooling stations in response.

The cooling stations located at Las Vegas Blvd and Foremaster, Flamingo and Cambridge, 21st and Fremont and in Henderson at Basic and Pacific. The stations will be available for anyone to use. Extra health and safety measures will be taken for those looking to use the stations in order to prevent the possible spread of the coronavirus.

Cooling stations will also be activated on Bruce Woodbury Drive in Laughlin, and at the Salvation Army location on Pioneer Boulevard in Mesquite.
